I {heart} Good Conversation
There is no escaping those little conversation hearts on Valentine's Day. I particularly am not a fan of the flavor, but sometimes I think it's more about the little sayings that are printed on them instead of the actual flavor that gets people excited.
I love good conversation especially when it's meaningful.
I recently saw an idea on Pinterest that combined conversation hearts with scripture. This caught my attention immediatly! I can't provide the link because the page is no longer available. Its such a great idea though I had to share.
I like the idea of centering the conversation heart idea around God. That way you don't have to have a 'sweet heart' in order to participate in the Valentine's Day celebration. Every one is included, the conversation is wholesome, and thoughts are Godly and Christ centered.
We made colored sugar cookies and wrote on them with an edible marker. I don't typically like using food coloring, but I will for special occasions if there is no other option. So, if you have a healthier alternative to coloring your cookies please do AND please share in the comment section below!!
I like the thought of being able to share these with ANYONE on Valentine's Day.
Print off the verses, include them in a card, and package the cookies anyway you like!!
Or! If you know someone who loves the real deal conversation hearts include a box of them instead of cookies!
The kids and I read through the verses while we munched on the corresponding cookies! Yum!
Here are the verses to go with the hearts:
CALL ME- Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3
TRUE LOVE- The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Jeremiah 31:3
ASK ME- If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 14:14
BE TRUE- And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32
REAL LOVE- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
I LOVE YOU- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
SWEET TALK- How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103
MARRY ME- For thy Maker is thy husband: the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Isaiah 54:5
BE MINE- My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. John 10:27-30
Bless someone this Valentine's Day with good conversation and a deeper understanding of real love. Add as many sayings with verses as you like!
Share them with friends, family, your kids, your neighbors, who ever comes to mind.
If you're to busy to make cookies, buy the conversation hearts.
You'll probably make some one feel awfully loved! That's the point isn't it? :)
