Honey & Homemade Cold Remedies

The kids are under the weather with colds and we are fighting back with lemon and honey both of which have antibacterial properties!

They've been chewin' on lemon slices and coating their throats with spoonfuls of raw honey. They are gargling with salt water in lieu of apple cider vinegar and eating bowls of organic yogurt complete with probiotics.

Other little treats they are happy to indulge in are our Homemade Honey Lollipops where the only ingredient is honey! Yes, the honey is cooked at a high temperature so if you don't want to lose all of the benefits of the honey, eat your honey raw. These lollipops are just a fun and natural way to make a sick child feel better.

One of their other favorites is our all natural Honey Lemon Ice. The flavor is very lemony, but has just the right amount of sweetness from the honey to cut the sour. The honey is only warmed to dissolve it in the water not cooked, so it retains all of it's value.

It's a quick and easy recipe which is what we all want when treating sick kids.

As I write this post I am waiting for my husband to get home with some fresh lemons so I can get to work on the ice!

We hope you are feeling well these days!
